Who Am I?

Who Am I? That is a question I have been asking myself for almost 42 years. Who will I be when I grow up? What will I do? What will I contribute to the world? Doesn’t everyone know I am just an uncomfortable 16 year old pretending to be a grown up and stumbling through life? Who put me in charge? They should know better!

Since I do not have any answers to those questions, I will just start with who I am right now. My name is Tracy and I am a 41 and 3/4 year old wife and mother who works in higher-ed for the State of Texas. I am in IT and I work in ECM. If you don’t know what that is, that’s okay. It’s not too exciting.

My best friend is my mom and we travel a lot together. But I also like to travel with my family and my friends if possible. I think I would travel alone if no one wanted to come along.

Why a Travel blog?

I love to travel. I grew up with a dad who worked for American Airlines so we traveled and flew across the world regularly. We were not rich, but back then it was easy to stand-by for a flight and get on. We saw friends, spent time in Europe and traveled whenever we wanted. Nice, right? It was. I totally took it for granted. (THANKS MOM and DAD) When I got into college, I could no longer stand-by and figured I would travel more when I graduated. Then I got married and started my career..I’ll travel when I find some time. Then I had my son…I’ll travel when he gets a bit older. Needless to say, I did not travel much from age 20-40. Twenty years went by in a flash and I missed it. Well, no more!

It is time to travel again. Travel inspires me. Travel invites daydreaming and hopefulness.

I travel because I need more hope in my average, ordinary life.  Travel makes life a bit less-ordinary.

Please join me on my adventures. Read along. Feel free to leave me a comment. Let me know if I need to go to a special favorite spot of yours. I am open to suggestions and want to see it all.
